Sex Worker Do's & Don'ts - Safety First!
So you want to be a sex worker! As with any other type of work, you have to make sure you're being safe. Here are some tips to help you in your journey.
- Check Local Laws - the laws surrounding sex work are quite diverse depending on where in the world you are. Be sure to comply with your laws as you don't want to get into trouble. The good news is virtual sex work (online activity, streaming, fan sites, etc...) is usually unrestricted in most areas which is why it's such a popular option.
- Safe Calls - If you're seeing a client in person, always make sure you have someone you can call, like a driver or a friend. Make sure the client sees you call that person so they know there is someone who will be checking in on you later. This mitigates the chances of the client doing something they shouldn't.
- Payment Up Front - Always get payment first before performing any services. If they pay you with an online payment provider like PayPal, be sure they send it as "Friends and Family" to avoid chargebacks.
- Protect your Privacy - Always conceal items with your real name on it. If using payment processors like PayPal, you can setup a link (Paypal.Me) from your account using an alias.
